Hugh Melton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Melton of Dublin, Georgia, who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Melton and Edna Jones Melton; and his siblings, Ben, Denny, Sammy and Mary Sue Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Bracewell Melton; his son Mitchell Hugh Melton Sr.; his grandchildren, Mitchell Hugh Melton Jr. (Cheyann), Kalie Ann Melton Philips (Ayin) and Danielle Melton Dollar (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Rae, Mason Lee Philips, Ella Mae, Lettie Ann and Thea Rose Melton; his siblings, Johnny Gordy, Magdalene "Maggie" Thames and Sally Dover (Truman); and his sisters-in-law, Jane Holzmer (Don) and Hazel Bracewell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions, in memory of Hugh, be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, a cause close to Hugh's heart.
