He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Lester Cone and Mildred Lane Cone. He is survived by: his wife Jane Baldridge Cone of Perry; his son Jerry "Lane" Cone, Jr. (Kemeshia) of Forsyth; and his stepchildren, David Ruddell (Jennifer) of Thomasville and Jamie Ruddell Goodroe (Randy) of Kathleen. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Andersonville National Cemetery (496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, GA 31711).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Wounded Warriors, Masonic Children's Home, or the charity of the donor's choice.
