It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melba Thomas of Dublin, Georgia, born in Carrollton, Georgia, who passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William Olaf "Billy" Thomas; her daughter Hope Lynn Thomas; her parents, James Claude Kent and Fannie Lucy Lee Kent; and her siblings, J. C. Kent, Paul Kent, Lillian Long, Ray Kent and Jimmi Nell Dukes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Tomlinson (Kenny) and Kandy Riner (Donny); her grandchildren, Brandy Mullis (Spence), Misty Smith (Brian), Taylor Taylor (Matt) and Zachery Daniel (Amy); and her great grandchildren, Beau Mullis (Taylor), Nan Marie Mullis, Ava Smith, Boone Smith, Everett Taylor, Ellis Taylor, Hewitt Taylor, Isla Mae Daniel and Eleanor Daniel. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home (215 W Jackson St, Dublin, GA 31021). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Poplar Spring North Baptist Church (289 GA-338, Dublin, GA 31021). A committal service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Cemetery (289 GA-338, Dublin, GA 31021).
