She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Uldrick Smith and Ruth Stafford Smith; her husband Joseph Stiles Durant, Jr.; her sister Betty Anne Griffin of Conway, S. C.; and her son-in-law David Darby of Augusta.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Fendig (Edwin), LuAnne Durant, Ruthie Brown (Bobby) and Susan Darby (Pete Caye); her grandchildren, Durant Brooks (Natanya), Stiles Brown (Emily), Robert Darby (Tori), Chandler Darby (Isabelle) and Conley Bird (Nick); her great grandchildren, Harper, Maci Jo Brooks, Mae, Hines Brown and Evelyn Bird; her sister Tippie Hill; and her friend Ruth. She is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
A graveside service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Dublin Memorial Gardens (2986 US-80, Dublin, GA 31021).
