With sadness, we share the passing of Sam Wright of Dublin, Georgia. Sam, born on December 21, 1938, passed away on October 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Wright and Julia Wright; his son Sammy Wright; his parents-in-law, Maxie Lee and Lucille Davis; his siblings, RoyLee Wright, Bennie Wright, James Wright and Lucille Hicks; and his siblings-in-law, Tony Davis, Willie Johnson, Lee Hicks Sr., Iler V. Wright, Bernice Wright and Faye Wright.
He is survived by: his friends, Will Smith, Jimmy "Coach" Williams, Paul Conyers, Torrance Pittman, Woodrow Carswell and O. J. Hall; his wife Retha Wright; his daughters, Lisa Wright of Dublin, Georgia and Carol Sailem (Jessie) of Dublin, Georgia; his granddaughter Catasha Harris (Joseph) of Snellville; his siblings, William Wright (Brenda) of Lexington, Jimmie Wright (Betty) of Locust Grove, Georgia, Julia Pearl Robinson (Charlie) of Wrightsville, Georgia. and Jeanette Thomas of Wrightsville, Georgia.; and his sisters-in-law, Annie Graddy (Willie) of Wrightsville, Berneda Darrisaw (Jerome) of Wrightsville, Eula Mae Johnson of Wrightsville, Barbara Davis of Wrightsville, Carolyn Brantley (Anthony) of Wrightsville and Wanda Davis of Dublin, Georgia.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home (414 Telfair St, Dublin, GA 31021). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (800 N Decatur St, Dublin, GA 31021).
