He is survived by: his extended family Wrightsville; his aunt Lynette Davis Martin; his spouse Bobbie Bentley; his sons, Walter Cecil Smith and Douglas; his daughters-in-law, Genie O'Neal and Beth Patillo Slater; Francis Davis (Bud). He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
