He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Sue Muir (Shoemaker); his children, Caroline Muir Browne (John) and Douglas Gordon Muir III (Sally); and his brothers, Jeffrey Muir and William Muir. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
