He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Dillard and Johnnie Mae Harrison; his siblings, Fred Jackson, Jr. and Jessie Mae Bolden; and his son Joseph Dunta Dillard.

He is survived by : his wife Bertha Dillard (Smallwood); his sister Mary Jo Dillard; his children, Tangela Johnson (John), Angela Smallwood Lacure (Joseph), Latonya Smallwood and Joey Smallwood, Sr.; and his grandchildren, Jason Anguiano (Natalya), Jonique Clemons, Crystal Harris (Patrick), André Gonzaque, Joey Smallwood, Jr., Rodney Smallwood (Erin), Jaqueria Gonzaque, Joseph Lacure, Jr., Christopher Brown, Jr., Jovunta Lacure, Isaiah Brown and Angel Brown. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory - Duluth Chapel (3088 Duluth Hwy, Duluth, GA 30096). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
