Though Karen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Karen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Schneider and John Schneider; her husband Arthur Dechant; her children, Michelle and Brian; and her brother John "Snubby" Schneider.
She is survived by: her daughter Jeneè DeChant of Macon, GA; and her friends, Page Cox, Kathy Brockman and Carole Juray.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dunwoody United Methodist Church (1548 Mt Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Special Needs Ministry of Dunwoody UMC, a local animal shelter or an organization of your choice.
