He was predeceased by: his grandmother Rutha "Tay" Cooks; his parents, Eugene Radford and Lucy Walker; his brother Stacey Walker; his niece Leisa Cooks; his great-grandparents, Jussie, George Meadows and Susie Meadows; and his great-aunt Louisa Meadows.

He is survived by: his children, Jaz, Russell E. "Rusty" Cooks, Jr. (Ashanti Griggs), Latisha Baskerville and Jazmyn Wormely; his siblings, Jacqueline Cooks, Shirley Adams (Albert), Tamike Neal, Anita Gauthier, Albert Cooks (Carolyn), Morris Walker, Jr. and Maurice Walker; his aunt Diane Simon (Henry); his uncle Terry Cooks; and his former wives, Daphne Bryson Jackson and Celena Smith.
