Paul Linck Obituary

Paul Louis Linck, beloved husband, father, and brother, died on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the age of 56 at his residence in Eatonton, GA with his twin at his side and surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Muskegon, MI on February 9, 1965, the son of the late Sylvester James Linck, Jr. of Ravenna, MI and Jeanette Clare Linck of St. Louis, MO. Paul graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN in December 1987, earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. After graduating, he moved to Atlanta, GA with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), and married the former Patricia Lynn Watson on September 3, 1994, in Atlanta, GA. Paul was a software guy his entire life, founding Solutions By Design (SBD) in the mid-1990s with two partners, which they sold in 1998 to what was then Security First Network Bank (SFNB), the first internet bank. He never really retired, founding a couple smaller companies along the way, and certainly never stopped building software. In December 1999, he and his wife bought a house on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, GA, and moved in full-time in 2020, later moving to a new house down the street in August 2020. Paul was an avid golfer and an accomplished marathoner and Ironman triathlete, competing in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii numerous times. He typically raced along-side of (or rather, in front of) his twin brother. He was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro as well as St Thomas More Catholic Church in Atlanta.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia Lynn Linck; his three children: Spencer J. Linck, Andrew J. Linck, and Blair Linck; six siblings: Tom Linck John Linck, Helen Linck, Peter Linck, Jim Linck (his twin), and Tim Linck; his beloved dogs, Jena, Groot and Homer; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Clare Linck and Maureen Linck.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Michael Silloway officiating. Burial will be at Honey Creek Woodlands in Conyers, GA. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church's Sacred Heart Social Hall. Serving as pallbearers will be his brothers: Tom Linck, John Linck, Peter Linck, Jim Linck and Tim Linck. A visitation will be held at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary at 6 p.m. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.

“To Paul's family: I worked with Paul for a number of years at Andersen Consulting. I always remember him as the smartest (wicked smart and genius-like!), most zany, most fun, with a zest-for-life person. I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for your peace and comfort during this difficult time. Sincerely, Meredith Barclay”
