He is survived by : his wife Laverne Carter; his siblings, Ann Carter Owen and Jimmy Carter; and his cousins, Jo Nell Horne and Gary Carter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

“Rawhide was truly a unique individual with a lot of character and stories. He was straight forward and honest. I called him Dip Stick and he called me Dip Shit. Rawhide was great to work around and joke with. Apparently he was a good cook because he looked forward to feeding his heathens ( joke) family. Loved the family picture with everyone toting a weapon. Will truly be missed. Praying for all his family! Phil Narron ( Flip or as Rawhide would say Dip Shit)”
