She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chandler Fortson and Annie Ruth Parham Fortson; her husband Bert Sidney Barger, Sr.; and her siblings, Marion Fortson, Don Fortson, Wayne Fortson, Jack Fortson, Annie Lou Cornell and Johnnie Brodeur.
She is survived by: her son Sid; her daughter-in-law Gaye Barger of Dewy Rose; her grandchildren, Carolyn Christina Hurst (Brian) of Birmingham, AL, Laura Sidney Garrett (Matt) of Aiken, SC and Christopher Jeffrey Barger (Renee) of Cary, NC; her great grandchildren, Sydney Garrett, Meyer Garrett, Joseph Hurst, Andrew Hurst, Gavin Barger and Stellan Barger; her sister Dottie; and her siblings-in-law, Ron Wakefield of Dawsonville, Sandra Fortson of Woodstock, Terrie Fortson of Comer and Betty Ann Fortson of Savannah. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
