He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ernest and Ethel Smith Adams; his wife Betty Jo Higginbotham Adams; his children, Brenda Adams and Beverly Ward; and his siblings, Inman Adams, Robert E. Adams, Jr., Owen Adams, Elise Mabry, Frances Edwards, Emily Worley and Mary Lea Bell.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Fernandez (John) and Steve Adams (Mary); his son-in-law Mike Ward; his grandchildren, Jennifer Edmonds, Lori Tom (Taylor), Daniel Edmonds (Jennifer), Scott Adams (Brandy), Matthew Adams (Brandy), Wesley Ward and Ashley Ward; his great grandchildren, Maddox Adams, Kayleigh Adams, Carson Tom, Camden Tom, Colton Tom, Rylan Adams, Braelyn Adams, Henzlee Adams, Delaney Edmonds and Ridge Edmonds; and his great great grandchild Miller Adams.
