It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Tom Scarborough of Elberton, Georgia, who passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John Henry Scarborough and Mary Frances Moon Scarborough; his sister Mary Ann; and his brother-in-law Jerry Beggs. He is survived by : his wife Peggy Jean Leard; his children, Arelia (Randy Lane), Vicki (Kenneth Little), James (Gale Scarborough), Deborah Jordan (late Jimmy Jordan) of Elberton, GA and John Paul (Kelly Scarborough); his siblings, George Earl of Elberton, Jean Scarborough of Elberton, Kenneth of Elberton, Phyllis Scarborough of Elberton and Patsy Scarborough of Elberton; his grandchildren, Amber Little, Brooke, Eric Johanson, Katie Smith, Sandra Scarborough, Will Bundy, Cameron Scarborough, Christopher and Jessica Black; and his great grandchildren, Brynner Jerrell, Erica Johanson, Eli Johanson, Jaleah Scarborough, Mallory Smith, Addy Eakin, Raegan Bundy, Skylair Black, Ava Black and Benjamin Black.
