He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willis Rucker and Reba Yeargin Rucker; and his siblings, Tom Rucker, Billy Rucker and Doris Rucker.

He is survived by: his wife Bridget; his children, Sonya (Jim Hulme), Rodney (Jennifer Rucker) and Russ (Samantha Rucker); his grandchildren, Parker, Cassie Hulme, Rachel Hulme, Abigail Rucker, Aidan Rucker, Rilee Rucker, Samuel Rucker and Roslynn Rucker; and his siblings, Frances, Bobby, Foye Rucker of Elberton and Phyllis Brooks of Elberton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Contributions may be made in his memory to Mercy Ministries at Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church or to T.J. & Friends Foundation.
