We announce the death of Russell LaMotte Williams of Elberton, Georgia, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 69. He was predeceased by: his parents, Laban Wilson Williams and Jacqueline Brown Williams; and his sister Barbara Williams. He is survived by: his wife Peggy George Worley Williams; his son Michael Laban Williams (Brooke) of Asheville, NC; his stepdaughter Megan Elizabeth McCurley of Hartwell; his siblings, Doug (Debbie Williams) of Texas, Ken (Linda Williams) of Idaho and Gwenda (Ahmad Kiayei) of Texas; his sister-in-law Judith Worley of Elberton; his grandchildren, Harlow James Williams of Asheville, NC, Hannah and Kevin Peeples of Hartwell; and his great grandchildren, Ellie, Rory and Ryker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
