She was predeceased by: her husband James Edward "Dink" Smith; her daughter Catherine Denise "Cathi" Smith McGarity; her son-in-law Thomas Glenn "Tommy" McGarity, III; and her siblings, Frances Moss and Harold "Hank" Ruff.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Lauren Catherine McGarity of Elberton; and her sister-in-law Harriett Ruff of Winder. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Falling Creek Baptist Church (1020 Jack McVeigh Dr, Elberton, GA 30635). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
