He is survived by: his children, Connie Thornton (late Fred Thornton), Tony Downer (Jennifer), Tammy Allen (Ben), Randy Downer (Virginia), Antonio Downer, Johnny Downer and Matthew Downer; his siblings, Herbert Gaines, Clark Gaines (Suzanne), Michael Moon, Sarah Brawner, Diane Burton, Dorothy Brown and Denise Rucker; his siblings-in-law, William Dean, Terry Hill, Josephine Gaines, Ada Gaines, Vanessa Dean and Adel Hughes; Sandra Hall and Marie Teasley. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
