He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Sims. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Sims Smith of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Jenny Ragsdale Smith (Jay Nelson) of Bluffton and Casey Tyler Smith (Angela Matheny) of Marietta; his great grandchildren, Mary Claire, Tucker, Charlie, Patrick Nelson, Ethan, Katelyn and Owen Smith; and his niece Susan Heard.
