We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2025, at the age of 89, Guy Hastings Rogers of Ellijay, Georgia, born in South Miami, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hastings Rogers and Mary Lena Connor Rogers; his sisters, Dorothy Gibbs and Earlene Haswell; and his grandchildren, Daphne McLaughlin and Sydnie Grace Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Ada Rogers; his children, Melanie Boyle (Jamie) of Mineral Bluff, GA, Melinda Jones (Anthony) of Morganton, GA, Sarah Rogers of Atlanta, GA and Guy "Buddy" Rogers, Jr. (Christine) of Mineral Bluff, GA; his stepbrother Jens Hansen (Jennie) of Hercules, CA; his grandchildren, Nathan Callahan, Dr. Natalie McLaughlin, Emily Gray, Conner Jones, Andrew Jones, Garrett Rogers and Wyatt Rogers; his great grandchildren, Malachy Callahan, Carson Callahan, Miley Jane Gray, Sawyer Gray, Lila Gabel, Weston Jones and Theodora Jones; and his great great grandchild Kyler Callahan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge (3911 Appalachian Hwy, Blue Ridge, GA 30513). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery (4560 Old Hwy 76, Blue Ridge, GA 30513).
