He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard William O'Dell and Stella Mills O'Dell; and his wife Carolyn Chastain O'Dell. He is survived by : his daughters, Christy O'Dell (Chris) of Ellijay and Stacey Stewart (Brad) of Ellijay; his siblings, Max O'Dell (Judy), Geraldine Lockaby, JoAnn Segars, Joyce Stewart, Carolyn Swinford (Mather), Wanda Benefield, Judy Wilson (Jerry) and Reba Burger (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Caleb Bracken (Emily) and Braley Stewart; and his great grandchild Reece Harold Bracken.

Food and flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Branson Chastain 84 River Ridge Ellijay, GA 30536.
