He was predeceased by: his parents, William Olin Nixon and Mary Adams Nixon. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nixon; his children, Derrick Thomas of Ellijay, Amie Meschi of Atlanta, Stephanie Gardner (Andy) of Woodstock, Kristy Stalcup of Jasper, Tiffany Long (Brandon) of Ellijay and Abigail Nixon of Ellijay; his sister Carolyn Eakin of Watkinsville; his uncle John Adams; and his grandchildren, Hayden, Harrison, Bradley, Corbin, Haleigh, Hannah, Kylan, Mackenzie and Ty.
