He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slimm and Helen Slimm (Reinhardt); his wife Mary Phyllis Slimm; his brother William Slimm; his stepchildren, Mary Charlotte Knight and William Wayne Garrison; and his great grandchild Sgt. Joseph Michael Garrison.
He is survived by: his sisters, Delores Veitenheimer (Slimm) of Cherry Hill, Mary Crosby (Slimm) of Cottageville, SC and Shirley Bellas (Slimm) of Jensen Beach, FL; and his children, Brenda (Slimm), William Banks of Cumming, GA, Terri (Slimm), Bob Ferrari of Jensen Beach, FL, Carolynne (Slimm), Kyle Standish of Gainesville, FL, Lois (Jack Slimm), Candy (Kevin Slimm), Misty (Brian Slimm), Craig Slimm of Stuart, FL and Joe Garrison of Hitterdal, MN. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Cartecay Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA.
