He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Compton and Lucille Compton. He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Compton of Ellijay; his daughter Michelle Marie Mock of Wilmington, Ohio; and his brothers, Ed (Linda Compton), Mike (Paula Compton), Greg (Kathy Compton) and Danny (Sue Compton).
