He was predeceased by: his parents, Walker Monroe Sluder and Learh Patrel Sumner Sluder; his wife Shirley Ann Woodring Sluder; his daughter Renee Sluder Rogers; and his siblings, James Sluder, Oneta Parks and Betty Vautrot.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Sluder, Jr. of Ellijay, GA, Abbie Chancey (Gerald) of Ellijay, GA and Sheila Cochran (Gene) of Blue Ridge, GA; his brother Johnny Sluder (Shirley) of Ellijay, GA; and his grandchildren, Josh Chancey (Miranda), Lori Cantrell (Jody), Stephanie Cook (Scott), Bobby Ballew (Delana), Kimberly McClure (Gene), Chris Cochran (Kristy), Jennifer Cochran (Kyle McSween) and Dallas Satterfield. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
