She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis "Hick" Armstrong and Nova Barnes Armstrong; her husband William Eugene "Gene" Smith; her son Bill Smith; her son-in-law Steve O'Brien; and her grandchildren, Candace Elizabeth Smith and Ricky Colbert O'Brien.

She is survived by: her children, Randy Smith of Tifton, Kathy O'Brien of Bowman and Debbie; her son-in-law Eston Connell of Nashville; her grandchildren, Brett Smith, Michael Sumner, Brian Connell, Brandi Smith, Tasha Smith and Trevor O'Brien; her great grandchildren, Lexi Peters, Belle Conger, Kelee Smith, Brandon Sumner and Audrey Connell; and her great great grandchild Sawyer Conger.
