He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Simpson and Nona Stembridge Simpson; his wife Judy Simpson; and his brother Charlie Wayne Simpson. He is survived by: his daughters, Lucretia Thompson (Dave) and Shanna Baggett (Patrick); his sister Alfreda Jo Bridges; his grandchildren, Kailah Myers (Wesley), Justin Baggett, Jacob Baggett and Nicholas Baggett (Brooke); and his sibling's children, Alicia Funderburk, Denise Koogler (Ken), Chad Simpson, Craig Simpson and Don Bruner (Amber). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
