He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Grizzle and Cora Bell Smith Grizzle; his wife Margaret Grizzle; his children, Janet Thomas (late Elmer) and William; his great grandchild Maisie Brown; his siblings, Delo Grizzle, Ella Dunn, Nola Jane Lawson, Beulah Grizzle, Lizzie Lingerfelt, Mattie Jones and Fannie Atkins; Couch.
He is survived by: his daughter Joyce Mealer; his sister Nora Anderson (Mark Strode); his grandchildren, Heather Cantrell (Adam), Danielle Sossei (Michael), Billie Jean Brown, Franklin Burk and Brent Wright (Julie); and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Mallory Sossei, Constance, Alayna Cantrell, Doyl Burk and Damian Wright. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel (7871 Blue Ridge Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
