He is survived by: his wife Santalee Judy "San" Jernigan; his children, Tres Jernigan (Lindsay) and Tara Jernigan Andrews; his grandchildren, Will Jernigan IV and Madeline Ruby Jernigan; and his pets, Sela and Ella.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907). A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
