It is with sadness that the passing of Deanna Berns (Evans, Georgia) is shared. Deanna, born on May 6, 1943, passed away on October 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Deanna will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Deanna by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Deanna is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Deanna’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore G. Hedges and Gladys M. Hedges; her husband Charles "Chuck" Berns; her brother Deane Hedges; and her stepchildren, Anna May, Vicki and Scott.
She is survived by: her children, John Shayne Emond (Jillian Emond), Sheri Dee Berns-Wright (Gene Wright) and Sue Jacobs; her stepsons, Steve Berns and Jim Berns (Jim); and her brother Richard Hedges. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by the many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wesley United Methodist Church (825 N Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809).
