He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry C. Smith and Alma Lee Helms Smith of Richmond, Virginia.. He is survived by: his wife Laurdella; his son Donald L. Smith II; and his grandchildren, Kyle Lee Smith and Audrey Kathleen Smith. He is also survived by Five great grandchildren.
