He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Strickland and Mamie Strickland; his wife Melvis Hyatt Strickland; his son Anthony Todd Strickland; his grandson Joshua Ryan Birong; and his brothers, Joseph Strickland and Gene Strickland.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Strickland, Janet Costello and Teresa Birong (Shawn); his brother Ronnie Strickland (Brenda); his granddaughters, Brittany Jacobs (Cory), Courtney Costello, Summer Costello and Taylor Johnson (Walker); and his great grandchildren, Kensley Jacobs, Bentley Jacobs, Brooks Johnson, Kolson Costello and Wren Johnson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Platt's Funeral Home - Evans (337 N Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bellevue Memorial Gardens (4501 Wrightsboro Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813).
