He is survived by: his wife Frances Stokes; his son James W. Stokes III; his siblings, Cluease Stokes (Patricia) of Johnston, SC, Freddie L. Stokes (Janet) of Atlanta, GA and Claudine Brooks of Evans, GA; his sister-in-law Cynthia Pullins-Stokes of Evans, GA; his granddaughters, Kahliana Sullivan, Jai'Ana Stokes, Kyrhstan Sullivan and Jaziah Stokes; and his great grandchild Nautica Sullivan-Walker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church (703 Furys Ferry Rd, Evans, GA 30809).
