He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Winouski Dowling; his parents, Joel Spain Dowling and Ida Malissie Thomas; his siblings, Mary Sundy, Edith Hickox and Oswald Dowling; and his nephew Mitchell Sundy.
He is survived by: his children, Sonya D. Rankin (Jim) and Carl P. Dowling (Susan); his grandchildren, Natalie Rankin, Grant Rankin, Garrett Rankin, Stephen Dowling, Aaron Dowling (Kathryn), Claire Dowling and Thomas Dowling; and his nephews, Donald Dowling, Ronald Dowling, Randall Hickox, Richard Hickox and Edward Sundy.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors (11025 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907).
