John left this world on July 12, 2025 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Lee Kirkland (Paul) and John Sheffield Sr. (Lottie). He is survived by: his wife Diane Riggs; his children, Heather Barrs (Joey) of Belize and Nick Sheffield (Emily) of Augusta; his grandchildren, Sophia Barrs, Lillie Sheffield, Lucy Sheffield, Jessica Barrs, Jeffrey Barrs, Mae Sheffield and Emily Barrs; his siblings, Joan Giddens (Hampton), Butch Kirkland (Norma) and Cynthia Haisten (Herbert); and his nieces, Jessica Giddens and Jasmine Bell (Tyler).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Calendar Quest Church (5001 Gateway Blvd, Grovetown, GA 30813). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
