He is survived by: his son Jeffery Fred (Melissa Sisk Hightower). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

“Sending all my love Thoughts and prayers out to Mr. Fred's family and friends. I only knew Mr. Fred for 3 days as I just started as a caregiver at Autumn Village. I only had one conversation with him in those three days because of him losing his verbal abilities. But in that one conversation I could tell he was the sweetest man and had a great heart and was a great man. I know he will be truly missed. My prayers and heart goes out to Jeff and Melissa.
