She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene "Gene" Lester Slaughter; and her daughter Larisa Ann Slaughter. She is survived by: her daughter Lynne Slaughter Padgett (Randolph) of Sterling, VA; her grandsons, Joseph Padgett and Josh Padgett; her sister Joyce; her friends, Pat Phillips, Laurie Phillips, Mackenzie Byars and Cameron Byars; and her grandchildren, Mackenzie and Cameron.
When she retired, she became a charter volunteer at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and joined the local charity, Fayette Samaritans.
