He was predeceased by: his father Horace Addison Dempsey; and his grandmother Mary Louise Ogletree "Weese". He is survived by: his wife Arden C. Sanderfer Dempsey "Ardie"; his daughter Kelsey A. Dempsey; his mother Barbara O. Dempsey of Fayetteville, Georgia; and his parents-in-law, Gloria Ann and Mickey Hester of Canton, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
