He was predeceased by: his father Hoyt Murphy; and his daughters, Angel Crossley and Kerri Hendon. He is survived by: his wife Donna Murphy; his daughters, Lisa Lang (Jackie), Robin Yancey (Donald) and Christy Greak (Todd); and his brother Pat Murphy (Diane). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
