He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Lee Carpenter and Lorene Boling Carpenter; his sister Bobbie Carpenter Foster; his parents-in-law, Glenn T., Nellie C. McDonald and Dennis; and his stepson Mack Carpenter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Carpenter English (Barry "Moose") and Julie Carpenter Sexton (Chris); his wife Mildred McDonald Carpenter; his grandchildren, Austin English (Molly), Sarah Beth English, Augusta, Mallory Sexton and Mason Sexton; his siblings, Betty Carpenter Dalton, Rev. Bill Carpenter (Martha) and Jefferson; and his brother-in-law John C. Foster (Cornelia). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
