She was predeceased by : her parents, Oscar Glenn Abernathy and Aubrey Ernestine White Abernathy; and her brothers, O. G. Abernathy and Donald Abernathy. She is survived by : her children, Mike Garrett (Debbie) of Gainesville, Donna Burch of Flowery Branch, Yvonne Morris (Mike) of Oakwood and Becky Taylor (Jerry) of Flowery Branch; and her brother Wayne Abernathy (Sandra) of Flowery Branch. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Memorial Park South Funeral Home (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Memorial Park South Chapel (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542). A burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at the Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery.
