He was predeceased by : his father Gordon Lee Brown; his son Gordon Lee Brown; and his siblings, Robert Brown, Steve Brown, Sybil Whitley and Bertha Barker (Jimmy Hollingsworth).

He is survived by : his daughters, April Ables (Joel), Kismet Sellers (Troy) and Joy Snipes; and his sisters, Lois Adams (Larry) and Elizabeth Brown. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
