She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Edwards Middlebrooks and Leah Ann Forsyth; her sister Linda Middlebrooks; and also Paul David Wilson (Pop). She is survived by : her children, Paula Wrye (Shannon), Dana Wilson and P. J. Wilson (Jill); her siblings, Sandra Humphries, Nancy Edwards (Kenneth), Edward "Tony" Middlebrooks (Nettie Lou) and Stephen Turner (Cleo); and her grandchildren, Austin, Avery and Drew. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
