She was predeceased by : her parents, David Whitehead and Donie Whitehead; her husband Thomas W. Martin Sr. (Ted Cowin); and her siblings, Quincy Whitehead, Warren Whitehead, Adolph Whitehead, James Whitehead, Ralph Whitehead, Frances Whitehead Sparks, Helen Whitehead Fountain and Pauline Whitehead Branch.

She is survived by : her children, Dorothy Jean Tyde (Dot) of Macon, GA and Thomas W. Jr. (Tommy); her grandchildren, Teresa Johnson (Gary) of Eden, UT, Thomas W. III Martin (Mandy) of Cumming, GA and William Chadwick Martin (Whitney) of Warner Robins, GA; her great grandchild Ashley Pierson of Ogden, UT; her grandchildren, Paige Pierson of Detroit, MI, Christopher George of SugarLand, TX, Kayleigh Marie Martin and Krista Claire Martin of Warner Robins, GA; and her brother Eugene Whitehead (Nancy).
