He is survived by: his son Johann Albert Nix; his sister Opal Nix Bentley; his stepdaughters, Laura Payton Edwins and Linda Marie Eubanks; his grandson Rainer Nix (Britini); and his stepgrandchildren, Joseph Winkler, Payton James and Johnathan Abston.

The military honors will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery (11367 Co Rd 511, Quitman, MS 39355).
