He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis. He is survived by: his sons, John B. Sloope, Jr., Jasper and Tom H. Sloope Forsyth (Angela); his granddaughters, Kathryn E. Danyo (Chris), Brookhaven and Alexandra T. Hinckley (Nick); and his great grandchildren, Reagan, Everett Danyo, Brookhaven and Logan Hinckley. He is also survived by nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Walker Hall of the Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (198 E Church St, Jasper, GA 30143). A burial will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Jasper and/or New Providence Church.
