It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. Rivers Jr. (Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia), who passed away on April 13, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James A. Rivers (Lillian) and Helen Dunn (Gene); and his sister Katherine Sargent. He is survived by : his wife Betty Green Rivers; his daughters, Tammy McCamish (Ron), Sandi Hauf (Dennis) and Donna Rivers; and his siblings, Jere Rivers (JoAnn), Michael Rivers (Marge) and Susan Wells. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; plus many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jim will be remembered not only for his contributions to the fishing community, but also for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering, fun-loving spirit.
