He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Marion Simmons and Harvey Mae Simmons (Minton); and his siblings, Jimmy Wayne Simmons, Thomas Michael Simmons, Harvey Jackson Simmons, Bobby R. Simmons and Mary W. Raffield.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Simmons (Walters); his children, Terri Lynn Hartwell (Eric), Lisa Dawn Grinstead, Kendra Leann Brown (Albert), Bobby Kenneth Simmons and Kyle Russell Simmons (Chasidy); and his grandchildren, Jason Hartwell (Katie), Josh Hartwell (Christie), Jessie Sanders (Matthew), Jonathon Higgs (Meagan), Shawn Higgs, Grace Brown, Gabriel Brown and Madeline Simmons. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel.
