He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Eris and Dollie Belle Lister Bailey; his wife Jamie Merritt Bailey; his brothers, David Bailey and Billy Miller; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Amy, Daryl McElwain, Jeffery and Shannon Bailey; his grandchildren, Mark, Amber McElwain, Marie, Ryan Folk, Melinda, Tucker Coody, Hayden, Madi McElwain, Austin, Karlee Bailey, Drew Bailey and Addie Bailey; his great grandchildren, Connor McElwain, Emma Folk, Kendall McElwain, Kenisyn Bailey, Charlie and Ellis Coody; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Carter, Ethel Miller and Pat Bailey; and his niece Rhonda (Paul King).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church (881 Avera Rd, Roberta, GA 31078). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, family respectfully requests donations be made to Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church.
